 Whispers of the Walls

 Intramuros Walking Tour
Behind the stone walls of Old Manila are colorful stories waiting to be told; of a warrior saint, of orphan boys saving 20,000 people, and of Chinese lions who seem to have lost their way.
First-time visitors to the Philippines should not miss exploring Intramuros. The Walled City is one of the few pockets of history in the bustling capital. In this tour, you will visit Fort Santiago, trace its pre-colonial roots and walk through its hallowed dungeons. You will also learn about Jose Rizal, the de facto national hero of the Philippines.

You will get to stand at the heart of Old Manila, the Plaza Roma, where you can admire the most important buildings during that time. Pass by Plazuela de Sta. Isabel and learn about the tragic effects of the Battle of Manila. Head over to San Agustin Church, the oldest colonial church in the city and hear how it survived the bombing during WW2. Finally, explore Casa Manila and a catch of what life was like for the affluent during the Spanish times.

By the end of this tour, we bet you would know more about Philippine history than the average Filipino.
